I BOUGHT IT: MAROON 5 "WAKE UP CALL REMIX"
Just got the Mark Ronson remix to Wake Up Call.
I will buy anything Mark slaps his name on but this song has Maroon 5, Mary J. Blige on it, too. And that's a fantastic line up. The only issue?I don't think the remix adds anything to the original version. I hate that I say that because I really love all these artists individually. I think this falls victim to when a song has so many different elements stylistically, it suffers from "too many cooks in the kitchen." It's not an RnB song, it's not a 70s soul revival song, it's not the disco/pop .... it's just a remixed version of the original.
